Dr. William Tom

My name is Dr. William Tom. I was born in Hong Kong and raised in San Francisco, California. I’m a Board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from University of California at Berkeley and my Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from University of California in San Francisco. I did my General Practice Residency and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at University of California in San Francisco. I returned to medical school and received my Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After that, I completed a one year general surgery internship at the University of California in San Francisco. I completed my studies with a one year Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at the Michigan Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Ann Arbor. In 1993, I started my private practice in San Francisco. I am a Diplomate of The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and I am an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. I belong to two organizations: American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

I have devoted my professional career to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of wisdom teeth, dental implants, surgical endodontics, and oral pathology. To keep abreast of the latest developments in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, I have always exceeded the continuing education requirements of California.

My hobbies include traveling, running and getting together with friends.
